Tammy + Jeff
We were pretty excited for this wedding… I mean, Tammy Brann, who is part of the family that founded the local staple, Brann’s Steakhouse and Grille restaurants. The very first was right here in Grand Rapids! Add to that, the groom just happens to be Jeff Smoker, former NFL player, and one of the greats from MSU. According to the Lansing Journal, he was one of the best in MSU history.
Allllll of that aside, the VERY best part of this wedding for us were the emotions running between Tammy and Jeff. From the emotional first look, to the love that just shined through as they danced with their sweet daughter on the dance floor…we felt incredibly fortunate to have been chosen to play a part in this special day.
Getting Ready, First Look, and Bridal Party Portraits in Ada, MI
Our photo team, Nat and Molly, met up with the ladies at to get detail shots about mid morning. It was very relaxed and fun, excitement was in the air! Once everyone was ready, it was time to head to the Ada Covered Bridge in Leonard Park for the “First Look.” Nat and Molly were able to also do some great photos with the bridal party in the bridge, and downtown Grand Rapids, and then they were off to the Harris Building to prepare for the ceremony!

A Gorgeous Harris Building Ceremony
We loved the light hearted feel of Tammy and Jeff’s ceremony. Their daughter, Nicolette, rode down the aisle in a flashy little car, it was the cutest thing ever! Tammy and Jeff had written their own vows to each other, that was an incredibly emotional time for everyone. The Harris Building was a perfect backdrop to their ceremony, with sparkling rose gold accents everywhere, and the dimly lit, intimate atmosphere.
At the end of the ceremony, the bridal party was sent straight out to the awaiting party bus to celebrate the new Mr & Mrs Smoker!

An After Ceremony Trip to Brann’s Steakhouse and Grille
The bridal party wanted some time to just ride around and relax before the reception. They did end up stopping at the Grand Rapids Brann’s location, and Tammy and Jeff stopped in to greet the kitchen staff, hang out for a bit, and take some photos in front of the fallen heroes wall they have created to honor those fallen in the line of duty.

A Glittering Harris Building Reception
The Harris Building was exceptionally gorgeous for Tammy and Jeff’s reception. The entire ballroom seemed to shine, with sparkling rose gold accents everywhere. Distinctive Catering provided a delicious meal for the event, and Connie’s Cakes created decadent desserts!
Our staff was on hand for photo, video, dj, floral design and so much more! We were so happy to see the entire event pull together into an incredible experience for everyone involved!
