Megan + Will
It’s pretty amazing when the bride requests lots of photos of laughter during her consultation! Megan and Will have been so amazing to work with! Jaymie, our Tux Manager, mentioned that when returning their tuxes after the wedding Megan said she doesn’t know what she will do with herself now that she is done with wedding planning…well, Megan, the coffee pot is on, swing by…we miss you! Everything about this wedding was a little extra special, a little extra sparkly…and always accompanied by laughter and fun!
Getting Ready at the JW Marriott and Fun at the Venue
Both parties had rooms at the JW Marriott, which is an incredibly luxurious and gorgeous hotel overlooking much of downtown Grand Rapids. The guys were ready in their classic black tuxes from Studio D2D when our photo team, Nicole and Molly, arrived at the hotel. Molly and the guys went out to explore downtown for photos while Nicole hung out with the ladies. The girls actually were able to watch the guys do photos on the Blue Bridge, as their room was a perfect corner location overlooking the Grand River and the bridge.
Affordable Limo brought an amazing historic trolley to pick up Will and the groomsmen, so they were off to the venue for photos. A second trolley was sent to the hotel to get the girls, they did a few photos at the venue, and it was time to start the day!

A Father Daughter First Look
Nicole and Megan decided to do a spontaneous “First Look” with Megan’s dad in the Loft. Once everything was set up, his face lit up when he saw Megan at the moment she turned around. We loved the ways that Megan incorporated all the special people into the wedding, taking this time with her dad, and doing things like wrapping her grandmother’s rosary around her bouquet. Just more examples of how she made all the details count!

A Loft Venue Ceremony
Megan and her father walked underneath a gorgeous archway designed by our floral team, and up the aisle to meet her groom. Will’s smile, and the smiles of everyone around him was infectious, and the entire ceremony was filled with humor, emotion and laughter! Will’s sister did a special reading, and then Will and Megan did a handfasting ceremony to symbolize their eternal connection.
Once the ceremony was finished, Megan and Will walked down the aisle as the guests tossed gold silk flower petals into the air.

Photos Together Before Reception
The bridal party snuck away to the back of our venue to grab some group photos before the reception. Since there had been sprinkles of rain all day, we kept them under cover of a really cool loading dock area. Megan wanted happy photos, so Nicole and Molly had a blast teasing and goofing around with everyone…luckily, this bridal party was really amazing and everyone just had a good time! After a bit, the photo girls took Will and Megan to the front of the building and used her gorgeous cathedral length veil for some beautiful photos with just the two of them.

A Sparkling Gold Loft Reception
Once again…all the details really made the difference for Megan and Will’s reception. The tablecloths were gold sequins, large gold vases held white bouquets of roses and hydrangeas, there were gems and gold on the cake utensils and more! The entire room was shimmering.
Each member of the bridal party was able to give a short speech and toast, with one bridesmaid giving Will a Michigan State Jersey…(the groom’s cake had a University of Michigan theme, so you can see what she was doing there, right?!). Speaking of cakes, Cascade Confections did an amazing job with the bride and groom’s cakes, as well as the cake bites that were out for guests to enjoy!
Kangaroo Kitchen was our caterer for the evening, and Distinctive Catering provided Bar Service. Studio D2D was ready to roll with Late Night Pizza Service once the party was underway and everyone worked up an appetite!
Instead of a dollar dance, Megan and Will dressed up in U of M/MSU jerseys and played a game with the guests to see who could make the most money…I think you can tell by the pictures who won this contest! Once that was wrapped up, Nicole and Molly grabbed Megan and Will to do a few night time images around the venue before calling it a night.
