Chrissy + Ben
These two were so sweet together! Our entire staff enjoyed working with them and the bridal party was just as fun! We beat the rain and humidity during photos outdoors, and welcomed them into our City View venue for a gorgeous reception that lived up to the months of planning! Read on for more details of their beautiful event!
Getting Ready at Clyde Park Church of the Nazarene
Our photo team, Nic and Molly, met up with Chrissy and Ben at Clyde Park Church of the Nazarene to document everyone getting ready and all the wedding details! Chrissy’s mom, Jane, was there before everyone else, setting up all the ceremony decor. Our floral team also arrived about the same time to deliver the gorgeous bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages! Chrissy and the bridesmaids arrived shortly after from the salon, and between dancing, laughing, and lots of Starbucks, it was a pretty great morning! Ben and the groomsmen came in around noon to get tuxes on, and it was time for the First Look!
An Outdoor “First Look”
Finding a spot for Chrissy and Ben’s First Look was tricky, as the church sat on the corner of a busy road. But with the help of a few shrubs and a big spruce tree, the photo team was able to set up a beautiful background for this special time!
Pre Ceremony Photos at the Church and the Sixth St Bridge
Chrissy and Ben’s wedding was a bit unique in the way that they wanted most of their photos completed before the ceremony. They left plenty of time for it, and we were able to shoot a few images around the church before heading to the Sixth St Bridge just north of the Grand Rapids City Center. We were able to just beat the rain before heading back to the church for family photos.
A Touching Ceremony with Communion
Chrissy’s church was the perfect spot for their wedding; a warm and inviting location for friends and family to gather together. They had a unity rope with three strands that symbolized the marriage of themselves and their faith. They also had communion with their guests, and then they were pronounced man and wife!
A Few Photos at Studio D2D
With a few extra minutes before the ceremony, the photo team was able to spend some time with Chrissy and Ben alone taking photos around the venue.
A City View Reception with Rustic Wood & Floral Accents
Under the soft light of the huge windows in the City View, the tables were wonderfully decorated with a simple elegance. From our floral design team’s centerpieces with gorgeous hydrangeas, roses and rustic wooden boxes, to the wooden accents of the cake topper, all the pieces worked beautifully together!
Distinctive Catering served a delicious meal, and did a great job running the bar service. Connie’s Cakes created simple and delicious cupcakes and the bridal cake. Thanks to these amazing vendors and our D2D team for another fantastic reception!
All the Best from Studio D2D!
Chrissy and Ben, you were wonderful to work with, and the sweetest couple! We wish you all the best!
