New for 2018
As designers and artisans, we have to watch the swing of each season’s color trends, and the biggest jump each year takes place when we see the announcement of Pantone’s “Color of the Year.” For 2018, it happens to be “Ultra Violet”, a rich blueish purple. We have already been working purples and deep blues into our bouquets with the use of lots of berries, Purple Sensation calla lilies, deep purple button mums, and lavendar freesia.
Wedding Wire mentions woodland themes, hoop bouquets and more, and we definitely agree that there has been a huge movement over the last year to the incorporation of rustic, foraged items, moss, and greenery into bouquets, centerpieces, and arch decor.
Cascades of Organic Design
More brides are asking for free formed bouquets with cascading greens, even simply lush bouquets of greenery alone, with no flowers included. Bridesmaids bouquets are becoming simpler as well, bouquets of Baby’s Breath for the bridesmaids is a great way to make a statement without going overboard.
Tablescapes and Aisleways
Ceremony and reception decor always runs a crazy spectrum of DIY to extremely elegant, over the top, florist managed luxury. We love to work with our brides and our in house floral designers to bring your wedding vision to life. We anticipate that the trend for Summer 2018 will be lots of greenery, baby’s breath and simple hydrangeas; while spring, fall, and winter will be resplendent with jewel tones, rich blooms of roses, dahlias, and succulents.
